We are looking for a capable Bakery Supervisor to ensure our teams are performing to achieve production targets without compromising on quality, health, and safety. Assists the Bakery Manager in training staff, arranging rotations/ scheduling, bakery stock monitoring and ordering, etc.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in mixing, dividing, molding, and proofing of dough, and in baking, slicing, and wrapping bread, pastries, and other bakery products.
- Examine dough and batter for specified consistency
- Read charts of fermentation room and ovens to verify specified humidity and temperature
- Provide training to all bakery operators and oversee the operation of automatic machinery, such as rounding, curling, icing, slicing, and wrapping machines to ensure maintenance of specified quality standards and production schedules
- Set up and adjust wrapping and slicing machines
- Ensure staff schedules are followed and in case of shortage of staff, assist the Bakery Manager to address shortage
- Implement the company performance management process by setting KPI’s for direct reports, conducting regular reviews, identifying training requirements, and providing learning opportunities on the job through on-the-job training and/or coaching/ mentoring
Requirements
To be considered for the role, you must have/ be:
- Diploma in Food and Beverage Service Management, Food Production, Catering or related field
- 3 years experience in the same role or in a hotel or catering service industry
- MS Office - basic skills for reporting, communicating through emails
- Knowledge of Food Safety and HACCP
- English - fluent (written amp; spoken)
- French (written amp; spoken) - desirable
