We are looking for a Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QAQC) Officer to join our team and spearhead the implementation of Quality, Food Safety, and Health Safety amp; Environment Management Systems and ensure compliance with all QHSE-related and applicable legal requirements, laws, and regulations of the country in which the business operates and with all contractual requirements.. QAQC Officer responsibilities include developing quality standards, conducting tests and identifying issues in the production/ distribution of our products or services. Ultimately, you will work with a team to ensure our final products meet our organization’s and client's standards across the operations.
Your Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities would include:
- Act as a Food Safety/HACCP Team Leader for the assigned location. Be responsible for establishing, documenting, implementing, maintaining and continually improving Quality, food safety management, Health safety amp; environment system according to the ISO standards and UNRS
- Implement and monitor PRP, OPRP and HACCP plan for the assigned location, report deviations and take corrective actions
- Ensure that all types of food rations supplied are of acceptable quality and safe to consume
- Ensure ration items are received, stored, and delivered/dispatched/transported in the correct method under the prescribed temperature environment and are fit for consumption
- Monitor the shipment of incoming containers and inspect the food rations on arrival and necessary accompanying documentation to conform to the UN food standards
- Monitor to ensure that correct cold chain temperatures are maintained during inbound, outbound transportation and in the warehouse daily
- Monitor HSE performance in the working area, and create a report on a monthly basis in order to highlight performance and any areas of concern
- Participate in QAQC and HSE Audits to ensure compliance with UN amp; GCCS standards and follow-up on non-compliance reports accordingly to close any gaps
- Follow up and ensure timely closure of audit findings carried out by internal, external auditors and UN QAQC
- Ensure proper record-keeping and documentation with photo evidence of inspection findings, suggested corrective actions, suggested further investigations and any other reports. Submit the reports to the Corporate QHSE Department and UN QA at the mission on a timely basis
- Ensure all QAQC-related tools, equipment, software, and hardware are maintained until the end of the contract period.
Requirements
To be considered for the role, you must have:
- Diploma in Food Science or related discipline
- 3 years experience in implementation of food safety management system in Ration Supply/Catering/Food Operations Management
- Knowledge of Quality management system (ISO 9001)
- English language (written amp; verbal) fluent
- French language -advantage
- Proven work experience as a Quality Assurance Specialist or similar role
- Excellent data collection and analysis skills
- Strong attention to detail
